The Rick and Bubba Show

Now some of you may comment and say that the Rick and Bubba Show is not "really" a TV show but a radio show and I would beg to differ with you on that point.  The fact of the matter is that The Rick and Bubba Show is a show for all media outlets period.  Yes they are more of a radio show than the other types of media out there but you cannot deny the fact that they do in fact venture out into other forms of media.  Please go to their website at www.rickandbubba.com and check out all the different things that they offer to their listeners/viewers.  At their website they will provide you with all the information that you will need to know about them including a complete list of radio and TV stations in which you can find them on and at what times they will be broadcasting on that particular station.  As I am writing this blog this morning I am listening to The Rick and Bubba Show as they host what they call their "Year Ender" meaning that this is the last live show of 2010, but not to worry as Speedy (third in command as I call him) will be hosting the "Best of The Rick and Bubba Show" until Rick and Bubba return in January 2011.  If you have NEVER had the opportunity to listen or watch The Rick and Bubba Show next week is a GREAT opportunity to get in the "loop" as they call it on the show.  What does that mean "get in the loop"?  In simple terms this means you can listen or watch the very BEST moments of The Rick and Bubba Show and determine for yourself if this is a show that you should be listening to or watching on TV.  The "Best of The Rick and Bubba Show" is the funniest moments of The Rick and Bubba Show from the last 16 years that the guys have been doing the show.  I started listening to the show in the late 1990s and have loved every minute of the show since that first day that I was hooked.  As you can image The Rick and Bubba Show has went through many different changes over the last 16 years.  The Rick and Bubba Show actually started out with just Rick Burgess doing a radio show all by himself.  Over time Rick added Bill "Bubba" Bussey because Rick thought that his show was funnier when Bubba would stop by his show and they would discuss various topics.  Rick went to his bosses about Bubba and the rest is history because it was no longer just Rick Burgess it was now The Rick and Bubba Show from then on.  Rick and Bubba then added Calvin "Speedy" Wilburn (3rd in command) as their producer and a cast of interns to the show with the longest running intern being one Don Juan (fourth in command for the longest time - almost 12 years).  Don Juan would eventually leave the show opening the door for Rick's brother Greg Burgess to step into the shoes of Don Juan.  So why does The Rick and Bubba Show work or why should I listen or watch The Rick and Bubba Show.  My response is a simple why not give them a try.  Of course I can say the same old same old that The Rick and Bubba Show works because of the chemistry of the cast of characters on the show.  Yeah that's true, but what if I told you that GOD has blessed this show more than any other show that I listen to or watch on TV.  The Rick and Bubba Show tell a story about true Christians and not only the struggles that a Christian goes through but the simple fact that Christians can led by example and have FUN too!  I know I really haven't told you anything about the show itself.  The Rick and Bubba Show is a show for ALL ages, races, and genders.  It is a show about the lives of the people on the show and the struggles and fun times that they go though.  I have been in studio with Rick and Bubba.  I have held a golden ticket.  I have shook hands with both Rick and Bubba and I can truly say that they are the same people on and off the air.  They truly care for each other and each member of their audience.  If you listen to The Rick and Bubba Show you really feel like they are part of your family and you are a part of their family.  My favorite memory of the show is when Don Juan, Hobbie, and Casio Kid travel to Panama City Beach and are walking along the strip and a truck full of rednecks pass the three by and one of the guys in the truck look at the tree walking and says the following "GAY, GAY, GAY!!"  As the truck rolls forward you hear one Don Juan say "I'm going to WHOOP that A!!"  You then hear that same guy in the truck say "Pull this truck over right now!" Don Juan can't believe what he has just done.  Hobbie stands his ground and is ready to stand by his good friend.  Then Don Juan and Hobbie tell us that they look over to Casio Kid and it is just a white puff of smoke like the road runner.  Casio Kid is running faster than a fat kid has ever run before.  Don Juan tells us that Casio Kid can barely be seen in the distance because he is running so fast.  This is by far my favorite bit of all time!!! I have never in my live laughed so hard and I think if you start watching or listening to show you too will find yourself laughing your head off too!!!  Check out The Rick and Bubba Show at www.rickandbubba.com

Star Trek TNG

So I watching Star Trek The Next Generation and I realized how for the first time in my life there is NO NEW Star Trek of any kind on TV.  I have to admit that I really didn't get into the reruns of the original Star Trek, but I LOVED Star Trek the Next Generation and watched every single show growing up.  I must admit that I still watch the reruns of it when I catch any on TV which usually is on BBCA (it's ALWAYS on BBCA).  I did watch the original Star Trek movies which were better than the TV show but I also thought Star Trek the Next Generation's movies were better too.  I NEVER watched Deep Space Nine because it was NOT about a starship and I just could NOT get into period.  I did watch and enjoy Voyager but again it was NO Next Generation.  Star Trek: Enterprise also had its moments but I think I got addicted to the technology in the Next Generation plot line and never really got into the whole Enterprise before Captain Kirk or Captain Picard (Sorry Captain Archer).  I did watch the NEW Star Trek movie with Chris Pine and I thought it was well-done all around.  This movie was not a reboot it was a GREAT plot line in which I thought was very creative on the writers’ part.  Also I thought the movie was very well cast to equal the talent of the original Star Trek TV show cast and the original movies.  But the question becomes what was your favorite Star Trek TV show and should they remake the original Star Trek TV show like they did the movie or should they come up with a NEW idea for a Star Trek TV show?  Again I think Star Trek the Next Generation was the BEST of the TV group period.  I think TNG had the BEST cast and the BEST chemistry of the group.  I say if you are going to recreate a NEW STAR TREK TV show you must do it like you did TNG.  Might I suggest a NEW STAR TREK TV show that takes place on the Enterprise well after the time of Captain Picard in the future.  Just think how the technology would have progressed another hundred years in the future!!!  I think that would make for a GREAT plot line.  I will probably take some heat here for what I am about to say, but I believe it to be TRUE.  I think Captain Jean-Luc Picard was a better Captain than Captain Kirk was period.  I know that ALL the shows were science fiction but I ALWAYS thought that Star Trek TNG was far more believable than the original show ever thought about being.  The storylines were far better than that of the original too.  I also believe that the Federation, Enterprise, Picard, and Borg storyline was the BEST of any of the other TV shows and movies combined.  I must admit when Captain Picard is captured by the Borg and was turned into a BORG himself it was some of the BEST writing and drama in any of the Star Trek TV shows.  I still get chills anytime I watch the cliffhanger when Commander Riker is in charge of the USS Enterprise after Captain Picard is captured and turned into a BORG.  This is the episode in which Riker and the BORG version of Picard are in a FACE-OFF in which the last words you hear Commander Riker say is FIRE before the screen fades to black (one of the BEST cliffhangers in the history of TV)....  This was the BEST episode of the entire Star Trek TNG in my personal opinion.  This was for me like the whole 1980s DALLAS cliffhanger "Who Shot JR" for me.  What do you think?  Agree or Disagree?  Was Star Trek The Next Generation the BEST TREK TV show?  Please leave your comments and feedback!

Burn Notice is the NEW MacGyver

So I'm flipping through the channels this morning and I notice that Sleuth TV is running a "Burn Notice" Marathon today (usually on Thursday nights on USA) and I'm glued to the TV.  I never miss a new episode of Burn Notice and if I do it is always TiVoed!!!  I'm going to out on a limb here and declare that Burn Notice is this generations MacGyver and that is a BOLD statement for me to make because I LOVED MacGyver and watched it EVERY Monday night growing up in the 80s.  Agree or Disagree?  Burn Notice is about a burned spy named Michel Westen.  Let's compare Burn Notice to MacGyver shall we.  MacGyver used the first-person narrative from MacGyver played by Richard Dean Anderson.  Burn Notice also uses the first person narrative from the viewpoint of covert-operations agent Michael Westen played by Jeffrey Donovan.  Hmmmm....  Worked for MacGyver and it is working for Michael Westen as the USA network has just announced that it has renewed Burn Notice for seasons five and sixth.  As we ALL know MacGyver could GET out of ANY situation, and he got into a LOT of situations, by using or making something ONLY from the material in the room he was in or his outdoor surroundings and he ALWAYS escaped in the last seconds to save the day.  MacGyver worked for the Phoenix Foundation and by ALL accounts was a SPY for the United States government.  When MacGyver was NOT on a mission for the Phoenix Foundation he always stumbled upon someone in need or someone that needed his help.  He was always at the right place at the right time.  Move forward to Burn Notice and lets compare the stats.  Michael Westen was a SPY for the United States government until he was burned meaning he got kicked out or in his case someone FORCED him out and since that moment he was burned he has made it his life's work to get the people that burned him and return to the work that he does BEST and that is being a SPY.  Like MacGyver, Michael Westen knows how to make a bomb out of paper clips and glue.  Well we all know that it's not that simple, but like MacGyver, Westen can get out of any situation that he finds himself in using only the supplies around him.  When Michael Westen is NOT looking for the people that burned him, he like MacGyver, finds himself stumbling upon people that needs his help, like MacGyver, the right place at the right time.  So the question begs asking who is better MacGyver or Westen?  Is Burn Notice just an updated version of MacGyver or are you of the school of thought that their is only one MacGyver?  Please leave your comments and vote MacGyver or Westen....

Phineas and Ferb

I have to say with the recent changes of everybody's profile pictures on Facebook to their favorite cartoon characters if it wasn't obvious before, it should be now that the 1980s had the best cartoons hands down.  What was your favorite cartoon growing up?  I did change my profile picture on facebook this week to "The Real Ghostbusters" because I think it was hands down the best of the best in the cartoon world when I was growing up.  I have to say that the cartoons today that our children have the choices to watch no way compare to the GREAT cartoons of the 1980s and early 90s.  If I had to choose one cartoon to watch in today's world it has to be Phineas and Ferb on Disney Channel.  I think it is the only cartoon on now that is just PURE fun not only for kids but adults too!  I remember my dad watching The Real Ghostbusters with my brother and I growing up and I hope my daughter will remember her and I watching Phineas and Ferb together and laughing our heads off.  Phineas and Ferb have something to offer to all age groups across the board.  Phineas and Ferb brings out the inner child in all of us and reminds us that we really don't have to take life serious all the time.  We all NEED a 104 days of SUMMER vacation!!!  Phineas and Ferb remind me a lot of my brother and I growing up.  Phineas and Ferb are ALWAYS up to something EVERY DAY, very similar to the old cartoon Pinky and the Brain ("So Brain what are we going to do today? Same thing we do every day - Try and take over the World" - love that line).  No matter what they do during the course of that day they NEVER get caught!!!  How does that NOT remind you of your brother or sister growing up???  When my parents left my brother and I home alone during the summer I remember all the fights, games, and all the things that we BROKE during the course of that day.  I also remember as much as my brother and I got into it during that day we also worked VERY hard near the end of the day before our mom got home to FIX whatever we BROKE during the day.  Let's just say that here in 2010 my brother and I can HOT GLUE anything to look like it had NEVER been broke in the first place similar to Phineas and Ferb and how all their PLANS disappeared before their mom got home.  I know the exception here is that Candice their sister is always trying to TELL on them to get them in trouble but it NEVER works (well in a few episodes it does but it NEVER sticks) whereas my brother and I had to work hard not to get caught.  I don't think my mom and dad ever realized just how many things my brother and I actually broke while growing up until 1998....  What happened in 1998 you ask?  That was my senior year in High School, but it was also the year that my parents remodeled their house.  When they start throwing things away in order to put NEW things into their house, everything that we had EVER broke just fell apart during the moving process.  I remember the SHOCK on my mom's face when she finally looked down at a lamp shade only to uncover the web-like hot clue that was ALL in that lamp shade that my brother and I had broke during an indoor football game that we later repaired that NO ONE knew for a good 5 years.  Oh yeah we were that GOOD!!!  So I do have to say that Phineas and Ferb do remind me a lot of my brother and I growing up and by far is the BEST cartoon on today but I still don't think it compares to some of the cartoons of the 1980s.  What do you think?  What was your favorite cartoon growing up?  What is your favorite cartoon in today's world?  Please leave your feedback and comments!  REVIEW 4 OUT 5 KITKATS WHEN COMPARED TO THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS WHICH GETS 5 OUT 5 KITKATS.

National Treasure

The holidays bring lots of cheer too many households, but in TV terms it brings a lot of RERUNS.  So may I suggest the movie National Treasure which airs tomorrow night 5 to 8pm Central Standard Time on Syfy.  I would pretty much call National Treasure historical fiction meaning you take some historical facts and fluff it up with some fiction to make an outstanding movie in which they did.  National Treasure stars Nickolas Cage as Ben Gates a historian and amateur cryptologist searching for a lost treasure, once protected by the Knights Templar and hidden by the Freemasons during the early years of the United States. I think National Treasure brings a good balance of action, adventure, history, and comedy all in one GREAT movie.  One GREAT reason that National Treasure works is because of the great chemistry between the cast.  From Riley Poole played by Justin Bartha, to Dr. Abigail Chase played by Diane Kruger, to Ben's father Patrick Henry Gates played by Jon Voight the cast forms a strong bond that is very evident throughout the movie.  Riley Poole is the comedy relief in the movie and steals the movie with his quick one liners.  Patrick Gates is the hard nose father that wants his son to give up all hope of finding a so-called treasure.  Dr. Abigail Chase is the no nonsense head guru at the National Archives in Washington D.C that falls not only for the chase to the treasure but also for Ben Gates as well.  National Treasure is FAST pace from START to FINISH with comedy thrown into the mix of things.  National Treasure is better than its sequel National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets which is also good but lacks the storyline that its predecessor had.  The question is will they make a National Treasure 3?  My sources say they are not only going to make a third film but a fourth one as well!  The questions are if these sources are true what would the storylines be for each of those films.  If you believe all the Internet rumors then National Treasure 3 will be about page 47 that the President told Ben Gates to look at in the President's Secret Book in National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets that was not resolved at the end of that movie.  Ben Gates did say that page 47 was going to be "life changing".  So what was on page 47???  Leave your comments and thoughts about what you think was on page 47 and watch National Treasure tomorrow on Syfy - REVIEW: National Treasure 5 OUT OF 5 KITKATS!!!

Mythbusters

Unless you are watching Sunday night football why has Sunday night become girls night on TV???  I am sick of shows like "Desperate Housewives" or "Brothers and Sisters".  Thanks ABC and by the way what has happened to you, please write back.  You could watch the Steelers/Ravens game on NBC tonight I mean they are playing for first place in the AFC NORTH, but what if you are not a football fan or what if by Sunday you are simply footballed out...  Well I may have the answer for you.  Flip over to The Discovery Channel and check out Mythbusters.  It looks like they are having a mini-marathon starting at 3pm Central Standard Time today.  Mythbusters is one of those shows where at the end of the day you wish you had their job and who wouldn't want their jobs.  Mythbusters is a little science, geek, comedy, good friends, explosions, and adventure all rolled into one show.  Heck some people tune in just see who is going to get hurt next.  In the end you just might learn a thing or two as well.  The show stars special effects experts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, who use elements of the scientific method to test the validity of rumors, myths, movie scenes, adages, Internet videos and news stories.  Mythbusters reminds me alot of my childhood growing up.  Boys get into trouble.  Boys like to blowing things up.  When you grow up MEN like to drive fast cars.  All of these elements exist in Mythbusters.  So are you telling me that this show is only for the guys?  Heck no this show is for MEN AN D WOMEN of all ages.  Think about a myth or saying that you have ALWAYS wanted to know to be TRUE or FALSE - that's the show proving or disapproving things to be True or False or in some cases you get a BIG MAYBE...  In so shows you can actually learn how to survive worst case scenarios.  For example, in one episode the guys showed you what to do and what not to do if your car ended up in the water.  The first thing that the guys learned that it would be very dangerous for you to actually panic in this situation because you exert more oxygen when you might have to hold your breathe and swim back to the top.  Your BEST option is to allow the car to become submerged under the water and allow the inside to fill up with water (yes this is part where you don't panic).  Once the car fills up with water in the inside the door should be easy to open.  Remember if you don't panic you should have been able to prepare yourself to hold your breathe while not exerting to much energy allowing you to hold your breathe until you surface.  I would recommend their "other" option though.  Go to a discount store like a Wal-Mart and buy a "glass breaker" so you could immediately break your car window when your car hits the water.  I know Wal-Mart sells a key chain that has a window breaker on it because after watching that episode of Mythbusters I went out and bought one.  Mythbusters is a GREAT show for the whole family to laugh and learn at the same time.  REVIEW 4 OUT OF 5 KITKATS.  Please leave your thoughts, memories, or comments or your own review about the show.

SEC Championship Game

So who is going to WIN the SEC Championship Game in the ATL?  It has always been said that it is hard to beat a team twice in one year especially if that first meeting was a nail biter.  Auburn and South Carolina will meet for the second time this year in Atlanta, Georgia Saturday December 4 at 3pm Central Standard Time on CBS.  The first meeting between the two went late into the fourth quarter with Auburn pulling out the victory.  The first game was played in Auburn, but this time both teams meet on neutral ground in the Georgia Dome.  Auburn comes into the game undefeated and a chance to play for the National Title in January in Arizona.  South Carolina comes into the game with record of 9-3 with losses to Arkansas, Kentucky, and Auburn.  So is the old saying that it's hard to beat a team twice in one year really true?  Well lets look at the history of the SEC Championship Game to decide that wise-tale.  Since the start of the Championship game back in 1992 rematches from the regular season in the Championship have occurred a total of five times.  Out of those five times the team that won the first meeting went on to win four out of the five teams.  Advantage: Auburn.  For example,  Alabama in 1999 won against the Florida Gators in the SWAP in overtime by one point.  In that rematch it was not even close as Alabama went on to win that game 34-7.  Auburn will be playing in the SEC Championship game for the fourth time in the history of the Championship game while South Carolina will be making it's first appearance to the BIG game.  Since 1992 the start of the Championship Era in the SEC the Eastern Division has won a total of 11 games to the Western Division's 7.  The Florida Gators have appeared in the SEC title game the most from the Eastern Division by a total of 10 times and Alabama has appeared the most for the Western Division by a total of 7 times.  For this edition of the SEC Championship game it becomes the question of what did South Carolina learn from their first meeting between Auburn.  If they didn't know from their first meeting they now know that Cam Newton is probably one of the BEST if not the BEST quarterback in all of college football.  Forget all the off-field controversy surrounding the quarterback the question is can you STOP him on the field.  Over the course of this season we have learned that you are probably not going to stop him but can you slow him down and the answer is YES, but we really didn't learn that until the Iron Bowl.  Alabama has been the only team to slow this quarterback down and remember they didn't stop him (look at the 4th and 1 late in the game in which he made an amazing throw to keep the Tigers in the GAME - YES a throw on 4th and 1 NOT a RUN).  The only reason that Alabama was able to slow Cam Newton down was because of their Overall speed on defense period.  Does South Carolina have that speed?  Questionable at BEST.  Let's face the facts here as much as we know Steve Spurrier as an offensive GURU it is his defense that has led him back to and the GAMECOCKS to their FIRST SEC Championship GAME.  Ellis Johnson South Carolina's defensive coordinator is NO loser by any means.  Trust me when I say he has studied the Iron Bowl film and will try his BEST to reproduce the Alabama's defensive units efforts and he'll have his defense ready.  Home field advantage is also a story line for this game even though it is a neutral field.  Auburn is undefeated on the road this year but it has been very scary at times at Mississippi State, Kentucky, and Alabama.  South Carolina is 3-2 in road games with losses coming to Arkansas and Auburn on the road.  Advantage: Neither.  The Head Coaches might be the difference in this game.  Steve Spurrier is 5-2 in the SEC Title game with all those wins and losses coming when he was the HEAD BALL COACH at Florida.  Auburn's head football Coach Gene Chizik will be making his debut in the Title game as Head Coach today.  You can bet that Spurrier will have his GAMECOCKS ready for this REMATCH.  Advantage: South Carolina.  What does this game come down to then?  I think you only have to look at two areas for this game.  The Auburn offensive line and the play of quarterback Steven Garica for South Carolina.  If the Auburn offensive line produces today Auburn will win the game and be in the BCS Championship game.  If Steven Garica plays spot on today like he did against Alabama then South Carolina will win a VERY close game.  So who wins the game today.  No doubt it will be a very CLOSE game today in the ATL.  PREDICTION: Look for South Carolina's defense to be stronger than alot of the experts think and the Auburn offensive line will play a GREAT game, but it will be the spot on play of Steven Garica that wins the game today for South Carolina busting Auburn's BCS title hopes.  South Carolina 34 Auburn 31.  Please leave your comments and Predictions about the game.

Smallville

COME ON PEOPLE get up and change your TV tonight for SMALLVILLE on the CW!!!  If you didn't already know it's the last season of SMALLVILLE a show that in my opinion has redefined the legend of Superman.  It is hard to believe that I started watching Smallville ten years ago.  Wow a lot of time has passed.  I have went from being in college to getting married to having children and yet Smallville has always been there for me to fall back on and it's going to be hard to believe that next year it will not be there!  Smallville is the veteran show on the CW.  Heck Smallville has been around a lot longer than the CW.  Remember when Smallville started out it was actually on the WB before the WB became the CW.  Sure their has been tons of cartoons, comics, and even movies about the man of steel yet Smallville is the first in depth look at Superman before he was actually Superman and I think the writers at Smallville have done an excellent job in plot development!  Not only have they done a terrific job at writing but what a wonderful job casting as well from the main characters to the guest stars that have all been apart of the show.  Tom Welling is spot on as Clark Kent the man that becomes Superman or as of right now The Blur.  Not only have we watched Clark Kent go trough the hardships of learning his powers and life lessons but we have also watch Tom Welling become Clark Kent.  In my mind Tom Welling is Clark Kent/Superman.  I know I know Christopher Reeve will always be Superman to millions, but for my generation I think it has to be Tom Welling.  When Superman Returns was made into a movie I have to say that I was little bit dissappointed that Brandon Routh was named Superman instead of Tom Welling and now that they are making other Superman movie I think the new Superman should be Tom Welling especailly since Smallville is wrapping up this year.  In all honestly I think that might have been one of the major problems in why Tom Welling was not in Superman Returns.  I dare you to go to any Superman website and check their polls as to who the new Superman will be and not find Tom Welling on that list.  In most cases I would almost bet that Tom Welling's name is at the top of any poll that you could find to be the new Superman.  What a great job Smallville writers are doing this year to tease you as to the fact that finally after ten years Superman is coming to Smallville, but when will it be?  Do you think they'll hold out to the very last minute to let the viewers see Tom Welling all dressed up complete with cape?  Or do you think they'll do that a few shows before only to leave you with a taste that you want more?  I also have to say what a great chemstriy that Tom Welling and Erica Durance (Lois Lane) have as well - WELL DONE!  I also MUST say that Erica is a HOTTY as well.  The whole Clark Kent/Lois Lane relationship is just one way that the writers have redefined the whole Superman legend.  I mean this season alone we have already seen the Clark and Lois relationship blossom and who would have guessed that Lois would already know that Clark is The Blur that becomes Superman.  If you are NOT watching Smallville you are MISSING OUT!!!  Smallville not only has GREAT writers and characters but a great message as well.  Two questions left.  When will Clark finally fly and when will he finally put on the cape to become the man of steel we all love.  Only you can answer those questions as you tune into the final season of Smallville Fridays on the CW.  Review 6 out of 5 KITKATS!!!  It is a MUST WATCH!!!

Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris has become an honorary member of the Texas Rangers today and all is right in the world.  The honor was presented by Texas Governor Rick Perry.  Can you believe that Chuck Norris is 70 years old?  I still would NOT want to meet him on a dark street.  Who does NOT LOVE Chuck Norris?  I guess you could say I was a late comer to the Chuck Norris movement.  I was really to young in the 1980s to watch most of his movies but I did indeed tune in to CBS in the 1990s for Walker Texas Ranger!  After Walker Texas Ranger I really lost contact with Chuck Norris until 2006.  What happened in 2006?  Well I am a school teacher and I had an 8th grade student who LOVED Chuck Norris!  Every single day in class he would give me a fact about Chuck Norris.  For example, "When Chuck Norris does a push-up he is NOT pushing-up he is actually pushing the Earth down" or how about this one "When the boogeyman goes to sleep, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris."  In honor of this student who brought Chuck Norris back in my life I actually went to Wal-Mart and got a poster of Chuck Norris Jokes and actually hung it up in my classroom.  On top of everything else I have the highest respect for Chuck Norris coming out in the 2008 presidential election to endorse Mike Huckabee.  I have to honestly say that the only reason I voted for Mike Huckabee in the 2008 presidential election was because of Chuck Norris leading me to believe in hopefully the next president of the United States in 2012 Mike Huckabee!!!  Did you see the youtube videos of Mike Huckabee and Chuck Norris if not check out this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDUQW8LUMs8 because it is FUNNY!!!!  Please leave your BEST Chuck Norris joke and remember - "Chuck Norris can win a game of Connect Four in only three moves!!!"

PSYCH

Are you looking for a NEW show to watch since your show got CANNED!  Well let me recommend a little show on the USA Network called PSYCH.  PSYCH comes on Wednesdays at 9pm Central Standard time.  According to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psych) PSYCH is an American criminal comedy-drama mystery television series created by Steve Franks and broadcast on USA Network. It stars James Roday as Shawn Spencer, a young crime consultant for the Santa Barbara Police Department whose "heightened observational skills" and impressive detective instincts allow him to convince people that he solves cases with psychic abilities. The program also stars DulĂ© Hill as Shawn's best friend and reluctant partner Burton "Gus" Guster, as well as Corbin Bernsen as Shawn's captious father, Henry.  PSYCH is GREAT TV because the cast has so MUCH chemistry together and this is especially true for the two main characters Shawn and Gus.  Every episode is like reliving events between you and your best friends.  The question you have to ask yourself here doesn't everybody have a friend like Shawn Spencer and the answer is YES!  Who doesn't have an outgoing, smart, cleaver, CRAZY, and funny friend all rolled into one!  My Shawn Spencer would be one of my very BEST friends George Alexander Hartline III.  George was my crazy outgoing FUNNY friend growing up.  Every week George would come up with a plan and NO matter how CRAZY it would be I would of course go long with it much in the same aspect that Gus goes long with Shawn on PSYCH every week no matter how CRAZY or how much trouble we would get into.  If George was Shawn then I was most certainly GUS.  I was the reasonable one when it came to George's CRAZY plans.  When George ran toward the crowd or TROUBLE I would always be the one to turn away and walk away or at least play dead.  But again doesn't everyone need a friend like that.  Take my buddy George for example.  If it was NOT for George I would have NEVER went to the college that I wanted to go to my entire live, I would have NEVER stepped out of my apartment at college, and I would have never did the things I did it college without my buddy George pushing me along.  In a sense I would have NEVER become the man I am today without my CRAZY friend George.  That's Shawn Spencer in a nutshell!  Gus would have never  become the man he is today without his CRAZY friend Shawn!  Think about it without Shawn, Gus would still be in his BORING old job in which viewers knew from the start that he hated with a passion.  The show is a winner and has been a winner since it started way back in 2006.  PSYCH also works because of the relationship between father and son.  Shawn Spencer's dad Henry Spencer played by Corbin Bernsen is the pushing force behind what makes Shawn, Shawn.  I mean really how many of us has dads that push us to become the people that we become later in life.  PSYCH works on so many levels.  Review 5 out of 5 KITKATS so watch PSYCH on Wednesdays on the USA NETWORK!

Billy the Exterminator

Billy the Exterminator is all new tonight on A&E at 8:30 central standard time.  I have to say that his is one show that you accidentally stumble upon one night while flipping through the channels and you become engrossed with the whole concept of the show and you can NOT take your eyes off of it.  If you have not watched Billy the Exterminator it is appointment TV or at least TiVo it and watch it later!  Billy the Exterminator is about a family of Exterminators in Louisiana.  The show consists of Billy his brother Ricky his dad "Big" Bill his mother Donnie, and his wife Mary.  So how did I stumble upon this show?  My mom and dad actually hooked my three year old daughter on Billy the Exterminator.  How do I know that my three year old daughter is hooked on Billy the Exterminator?  For this blog I was trying to think of what Billy's mother's name was and I couldn't think of it.  So what do I do?  I ask my three year old daughter and without hesitation she replies "Donnie".  I proceeded to ask her trivia questions about the show in which she answered every single question correct.  My daughter was also asked to name a community helper at daycare and what does she reply?  Billy.  Her teacher took her to the front office to get the head lady to explain to her that Billy the Exterminator was not a community helper, but the head lady actually told my daughter that in some cases she was actually right!  How about that!  So what makes this show worth watching?  I think it has a little bit of Steve Irwin crocodile hunter to it.  Why do I watch?  I really think I watch to see what is going to attack Billy or Ricky next.  Is it bad that I always like it when a bee, raccoon, snake, or even crocodile attacks them?  My FAVORITE episode so far has to be when Billy is called out to a zoo like farm to catch mice in the workers house.  Everything goes smooth on the first day of this assignment.  Billy does his inspection and sets all his mouse traps.  On the second day he goes back to clear all the traps with this brother Ricky by his side.  As he is going through the house clearing all the traps he makes it to the bedroom of one of the workers.  He lays down to clear one of the traps under a dresser when all the sudden he JUMPS up screaming.  Attached to his hand is a LONG SNAKE!!!  The girl that lives there RUNS screaming SNAKE out of the room and Billy is screaming for his brother Ricky.  Billy tries to get the snake off his hand but fails.  Ricky rushes in and is able to remove the snake from his brother's hand.  Billy is needless to say FREAKED OUT!!!  He keeps asking Ricky is it poisonous???? Do I need medical attention???  After several seconds Ricky tells Billy that he should be ok because this is just a KING snake and that is NOT poisonous.  This episode lets you in on just how dangerous this job can be, but at the same time you almost want to tune in to see what in the world is going to attack either Billy or Ricky next!  Review 5 out of 5 KITKATS!!!  This is MUST see TV!!!!  Please your thoughts or comments on Billy the Exterminator

WWE

The WWE is holding a three hour live RAW event tonight for their King of the Ring event on the USA Network (check your local cable and satellite providers for channels).  What has happened to the WWE?  I remember back in the late 1990s when the Monday Night Wars were are the rage.  Do you remember Monday Night Nitro?  So what started the raged back in the 90s?  It was one little pay per view event called BASH AT THE BEACH in which Hulk Hogan turned "BAD" and created a little thing called the NWO (New World Order).  Hogan who was a goody too shoes for all the 80s was suddenly the worse of the worse and NO one could believe it!!?  How could Hulk Hogan turn on all his little Hulkamania fans?  It was pure ratings GOLD!  A clever move by the WCW at the time.  People would watch every Monday night to see A. what Hogan and the NWO would do and B. if it was going to be this week that Hogan would go back to his yellow tights and be a good guy again!  To compete with WCW the WWE soon caught up with WCW with he likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, and DX and they eventually went on to buy WCW.
When the WWE bought the WCW this marked the beginning of the end for the Monday night WARS and the end of a GREAT run for Wrestling.  WWE's purchase of the WCW might have been the worse move the WWE could have done for the success of their own company.  With that single purchase their was NO more competition to win Monday night or even Thursday night (now Friday night), and they flooded their own company with to many wrestlers in one company.  The WWE did have some success but eventually they had to create three versions of the WWE to make all the new wrestlers work with RAW on Monday night, ECW on Tuesday night and Smackdown on Thursday night (which was later moved to Friday night).  After Stone Cold Steve Austin stopped wrestling, The Rock leaving for a movie career, and the demise of DX the WWE was left without any real gimmicks.  WWE has tried to bring newcomers like John Cena, Randy Orton, and Chris Jericho to the front of the company with success, but yet still lacking what I call the NWO/Hogan turning bad factor.  I think the WWE has realized these lacking factors over the last year with the introduction of the Nexus.  Did they have a working formula?  Was the Nexus the second coming of the NWO?  Almost.  John Cena this generations Hulk Hogan was forced to join the Nexus yet the WWE FAILED to make CENA the bad guy.  The WWE got it wrong!!!  CENA should have turned to the Nexus.  Cena should have become the bad guy like Hogan did.  If the WWE had made CENA the bad guy viewers would have tuned in for the same reasons viewers had tuned into see Hogan and the NWO!
So what has the WWE got going for it right now?  The WWE finally got something right by making The Miz the Champion.  I think the Miz is the future of the WWE.  He is very confident and a very well-spoken individual that can cause trouble for the WWE.  The Miz needs a group like DX, the Nexus, or even the NWO to join him.  It is a proven fact that groups have ALWAYS worked better for a storyline in wrestling anyway.  But the question remains has the WWE lost its MOJO???  Right now I would say for you to TIVO Monday Night RAW so you can FAST FORWARD through most of the BORING storyline right now.  Please leave your comments and questions - Has the WWE lost its MOJO???

Leslie Nielsen

Sad news to report tonight that Leslie Nielsen has died in Flordia at age 84.  One of the very first movies that I remember growing up was Airplane!  In fact it was on TV just the other day.  Leslie Nielsen was an actor that did not care to make fun of himself and that is what made him great.  Besides Airplane Nielsen also starred in the Naked Gun series as well.  Leslie Nielsen dead at age 84.  Please leave your comments and thoughts about the late actor and what role made you laugh the most.

NCIS

The USA Network is currently airing season seven of NCIS through 11pm Central Standard Time tonight (check your local cable or satellite providers to see if you get the USA Network and for channel listings).  NCIS has proved over the years why they are a ratings hit.  Mark Harmon's character Leroy Jethro Gibbs better known as just "Gibbs" will be one of those characters that will go down in TV lore like Archie Bunker.  Did you know that NCIS actually is a spin off from the long running NBC/CBS hit JAG (Judge Advocate General).  NCIS has also has produced its on spin off NCIS Los Angeles.
NCIS started out rocky but really picked up a following around season five.  NCIS works for several reasons. NCIS has a GREAT cast that makes the show a hit.  The chemistry between the characters makes the viewers want to watch because it is so believable to think that this group actually works together and generally like each other as a family should.
Gibbs’s team is composed of Special Agent and Senior Field Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) and Probationary Special Agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo).  Gibbs and Tony have your basic father-son relationship on the show.  This was proven when Gibbs suddenly retired leaving Tony in charge of the team at the end of season three giving viewers an insight on how Gibbs always knows everything by watching how DiNozzo learns about everything before his team tells him making him very much like Gibbs.  DiNozzo and McGee have a GREAT brotherly relationship that would almost make you think that they are indeed brothers (they are NOT though).  DiNozzo and Ziva have this love hate relationship that makes my think of the 1980s hit "Moonlighting".  The question that many NCIS fans want to know is "will they or won't they" get together.  My guess is that they will and it will be long before the show ends.  Other characters that make the show a hit are Chief Medical Examiner Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum), Medical Assistant Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), and Forensic Specialist Abigail Abby" Sciuto (Pauley Perrette).
Should you watch NCIS?  Yes.  NCIS is a great show and the reason you know that it's a GREAT show is because it has only gotten better over time and that's something that you CAN see in the ratings.  NCIS broke into the top 10 in the TV ratings by the end of season four and now in season eight is in the top five weekly.
*REVIEW - NCIS gets 5 out 5 KITKATS
Watch NCIS Tuesdays on CBS - NO REALLY it's a GREAT show!
