NCIS

The USA Network is currently airing season seven of NCIS through 11pm Central Standard Time tonight (check your local cable or satellite providers to see if you get the USA Network and for channel listings).  NCIS has proved over the years why they are a ratings hit.  Mark Harmon's character Leroy Jethro Gibbs better known as just "Gibbs" will be one of those characters that will go down in TV lore like Archie Bunker.  Did you know that NCIS actually is a spin off from the long running NBC/CBS hit JAG (Judge Advocate General).  NCIS has also has produced its on spin off NCIS Los Angeles.
NCIS started out rocky but really picked up a following around season five.  NCIS works for several reasons. NCIS has a GREAT cast that makes the show a hit.  The chemistry between the characters makes the viewers want to watch because it is so believable to think that this group actually works together and generally like each other as a family should.
Gibbs’s team is composed of Special Agent and Senior Field Agent Anthony "Tony" DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), Special Agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) and Probationary Special Agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo).  Gibbs and Tony have your basic father-son relationship on the show.  This was proven when Gibbs suddenly retired leaving Tony in charge of the team at the end of season three giving viewers an insight on how Gibbs always knows everything by watching how DiNozzo learns about everything before his team tells him making him very much like Gibbs.  DiNozzo and McGee have a GREAT brotherly relationship that would almost make you think that they are indeed brothers (they are NOT though).  DiNozzo and Ziva have this love hate relationship that makes my think of the 1980s hit "Moonlighting".  The question that many NCIS fans want to know is "will they or won't they" get together.  My guess is that they will and it will be long before the show ends.  Other characters that make the show a hit are Chief Medical Examiner Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum), Medical Assistant Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen), and Forensic Specialist Abigail Abby" Sciuto (Pauley Perrette).
Should you watch NCIS?  Yes.  NCIS is a great show and the reason you know that it's a GREAT show is because it has only gotten better over time and that's something that you CAN see in the ratings.  NCIS broke into the top 10 in the TV ratings by the end of season four and now in season eight is in the top five weekly.
*REVIEW - NCIS gets 5 out 5 KITKATS
